Iran might agree to an agreement to end the Middle East conflict as early as Saturday, according to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. His remarks coincided with the arrival of Pakistan’s influential army chief in Tehran to support mediation and the sudden decision by US President Donald Trump to stay in Washington instead of attend his son’s wedding owing to “circumstances pertaining to government,” which fueled rumors that negotiations had reached a delicate point. Rubio stated that talks had advanced, but he did not discount the possibility that Trump would start attacking Iran again.A little later today, there may be some news. Maybe there isn’t. During his first trip to India, Rubio told reporters in New Delhi, “I hope there will be.”

Before going to a reception at Roosevelt House in New Delhi, Marco Rubio and his wife Jeanette stroll along the red carpet. Reuters “Some progress has been achieved. “There is a chance that, whether it’s later today, tomorrow, in a couple days, we may have something to say,” he added. “Even as I speak to you now, there’s some work being done.” Rubio reaffirmed US demands that Iran turn over highly enriched uranium and completely open the Strait of Hormuz, which it has controlled in reaction to the US-Israeli attack. Trump’s “preference is always to resolve issues like these through diplomatic negotiation.” We’re still working on it,” Rubio stated. “But this problem will be solved, as the president’s made… clear, one way or the other.”
