During a quick field response on Thursday morning, the marine rescue teams of the Sharjah Civil Defence Authority (SCDA) were able to save a driver whose car fell into Sharjah Creek across from Sharjah Courts. This showed the teams’ preparedness and high level of emergency response. When the marine rescue crew saw the automobile plunge into the ocean at 7:04 a.m. while conducting the morning security patrol, specialized teams raced to the scene to try to save the driver.
In less than eight minutes, the rescuers were able to dive in, reach the driver, and remove him from the car. This operation demonstrated the professionalism and field readiness of SCDA’s marine rescue teams, as well as the speed with which they respond to emergencies.
In order to develop the safety system and save lives, SCDA continued, “rapid response and continuous training of field personnel are essential elements.” It also noted that these activities are the outcome of ongoing training and boosting readiness levels to deal with varied reports and crises. After getting the required care, the driver’s condition was assessed as satisfactory. He was turned over to the National Ambulance at the scene of the collision.
