The Sharjah Family and Community Council-affiliated Child Safety Organisation (CSO) has asked parents to keep a closer eye on how their children use cellphones, delivery apps, and online shopping platforms, emphasizing that convenience should never take the place of parental supervision. In a public awareness statement, the company stated that delivery services have become a part of ordinary family life, making it easier for households to manage food orders, shopping, and daily requirements.
However, it emphasized that when children use these services on their own, parents must establish clear guidelines for what they can order, how they pay, and whether they are permitted to receive deliveries at home.
According to the organization, some youngsters may use their phones to order food, products, toys, or other stuff without their parents’ knowledge, and then attempt to collect the delivery themselves when it arrives.
It urged families to pay attention to their children’s everyday behaviors and ensure that they understand that internet purchase and delivery should not take place without adult supervision and agreement. The message, the organization said, is not intended to instill fear, but rather to assist families in responding to how smart applications have altered children’s behavior at home.
