We recently had the pleasure of interviewing Rachel Meuleman, Founder of The Bizz Advisors. We started the interview by asking, “Given the rapid evolution in your industry, what major trends do you see shaping the future, and how is your company preparing for them?”

Rachel Meuleman shared, “The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on our industry, essentially shutting down event companies and limiting in-person connections. It was a wake-up call for everyone to recognize the importance of having a strong online presence – if you’re not online, you’re nowhere. Over the past four years, we’ve seen a significant shift in how people conduct business, and the need for adaptability has never been clearer.

One major trend shaping the future is the growing reliance on digital spaces for engagement. People have evolved their business strategies to ensure they’re better prepared for any disruptions, but this digital shift has also introduced challenges. There’s now a communication gap – a kind of digital disconnect – that many struggle with. I see this as a form of disability, and I’m committed to helping individuals and businesses overcome it.

To thrive in today’s ever-changing landscape, I believe in blending human connection with digital innovation. By embracing AI, staying ahead of trends, and learning from the past, I help my clients stay resilient and successful. My goal is to proactively navigate future challenges and shape my business for continued growth.”

We were interested to learn more about the values that guide Rachel Meuleman’s business, we asked, “What guiding principles or core values have you consistently relied on to drive your company’s success?”

Rachel Meuleman shared, “My guiding principles and core values have always centered around staying true to my mission and working with individuals who share similar values. I prioritize surrounding myself with positive, intellectually supportive people who bring industry expertise and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented community. I believe in maintaining a close circle of trusted industry leaders to ensure that we stay focused and aligned.

The values I uphold in both personal and professional relationships include transparency, trust, open-mindedness, and cultural diversity. Additionally, I prioritize customer-centric, data-driven decision-making, strategic thinking, continuous learning, and flexibility. Empathy and integrity are essential, as well as building strong, meaningful relationships that foster both professional opportunity and personal growth. Ultimately, these principles guide me in selecting clients and collaborators who align with these values, allowing us to elevate each other and achieve shared success.”

We further asked, “How has your leadership philosophy evolved over the years, particularly in light of the technological advancements and disruptions in your industry?

Rachel Meuleman responded, “My leadership philosophy has always been rooted in service – both to my clients and to my team. Over the years, especially with the rapid technological advancements and disruptions in our industry, I’ve placed even greater emphasis on fostering growth and development. I believe that as a leader, my role is to support and uplift those around me, creating an environment where continuous learning and proactive thinking are the norm.

I prioritize a growth mindset, which allows us to adapt to changes and disruptions by staying innovative and collaborative. By encouraging constant learning and embracing change, we remain agile and ready to navigate the challenges of an evolving industry. At the same time, I feel a deep connection to a higher purpose, which helps guide me through these shifts and ensures that we stay aligned with our mission.

Ultimately, my goal is to not only overcome industry disruptions but to be part of the innovation that drives them. With initiatives like BizzAngels, we aim to bring something truly unique to the market, offering solutions that no one else does on a global scale.”

Eager to learn more about the events that influenced Rachel to start her journey in this field, we inquired, “Reflecting on your journey, what inspired you to start in your current industry, and what was a defining moment early in your career?”

My journey into the industry began with my early career in promotions, where I first experienced the power of live events and direct engagement with people. What truly inspired me was observing how individuals connect with brands and how unique experiences could evoke strong emotional responses. I quickly realized that creating memorable, emotionally driven moments played a pivotal role in shaping the customer journey. This understanding of the importance of emotional connection has been a defining factor in my career and continues to inspire my work today.” Rachel Meuleman added.

Challenges are a part of every career path. To learn how Rachel overcame the same, we asked, “Throughout your career, what has been one of the most significant challenges you faced, and how did you overcome it?”

Rachel Meuleman replied, “One of the most significant challenges I have faced in my career has been working in environments where women are often perceived in limiting ways and not traditionally seen as integral to the business world. I have encountered discrimination and inequality, but rather than letting it discourage me, it has motivated me to push even harder.

This challenge has fueled my drive to not only achieve more but also to challenge and reshape perceptions. My goal is to be an inspiration, particularly for women in this region who may be questioning their value. I aim to help them discover and embrace their worth, especially in male-dominated spaces. By doing this, we can contribute to the equality that is essential for creating a win-win situation for everyone involved. It’s an ongoing journey, but one that I embrace with the hope of changing perspectives and contributing to a more inclusive business environment.”

Setting Apart From The Competition

We asked, “Could you share an innovative strategy or approach that has recently helped your company stand out in a competitive market?”

Rachel Meuleman shared, “One innovative strategy that recently helped our company stand out in a competitive market was combining field marketing with digital engagement in a truly unique way. Drawing from my background in promotions, we launched a campaign featuring our BizzAngels – girls who wore wings to capture attention. To further enhance engagement, we ran a competition centered around our hashtag, #CatchAnAngel, encouraging people to spot the BizzAngels, take photos, and share them on social media.

This interactive approach created a buzz by blending in-person interactions with a strong digital presence. People were drawn to the BizzAngels because they were visually striking, approachable, and engaging, sparking curiosity and conversation. To incentivize participation, we offered a prize of a free event experience with a BizzAngel, which drove even more interaction.

By integrating promotions, field marketing, and digital engagement, we created a 360-degree campaign that not only generated excitement but also helped us strategically launch our brand and stand out in the market.”

We ended the interview by asking, “Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for your company, and what strategies are you considering to achieve them?”

My aspirations for the company are ambitious – I aim to take it global and create a significant impact worldwide. I’m driven by a mission to inspire and advance gender equality across diverse countries, communities, and cultures. I want to be a source of empowerment, especially for women, to help them realize their value in a world where many cultures still present challenges.

At the same time, I want to demonstrate that success can be achieved through collaboration. Building strategic alliances with businesses that share our mission is key to reaching these goals. By partnering with organizations that recognize and support what we’re doing, I believe we can make a lasting difference and achieve the global impact I envision.” Rachel Meuleman concluded.
