Separate locations around the country predominantly in parts of the eastern region, especially Khorfakkan Road and Sheikh Khalifa Street heading to Fujairah, were hit by summer rains of variable strength. The mountains were under the rain clouds and substantially temperature dropped while little streams and valleys were running with water in remarkable weather conditions which was coinciding with the start of the summer season.
The rainy weather drew a number of people and visitors who came to the hilly areas to enjoy the rain and nature landscape. The circulated footage showed water running on the mountain slopes and the roadways becoming wet due to the rains. This sight was typical of the local activity of cumulus clouds that occur during this period of the year over the eastern and hilly parts of the country.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said Monday’s weather is likely to be generally clear although light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow turning to active at times offshore at 10 to 25 and up to 40 km/h. The water will be moderate to rough with the occasional wave in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the waters of Oman.
