Maria Lukic

We recently had the opportunity to interview Maria Lukic, Sales Director of Reportage Properties LLC. With a proven track record of working in the Real Estate industry, Maria is adept at negotiation, business and analytical planning, sales, and marketing analysis. As a Sales Director, she skillfully deals with people from different backgrounds. Reportage is a well-known name in the field of Real Estate, offering affordable modern design homes in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and internationally. With her expertise and strategic leadership, Maria Lukic is playing a crucial role in establishing and expanding the company’s presence.

The Beginning

We started the interview by asking, “How did you get started, and what led you to where you are today?”

Maria Lukic shared, “From a young age, I was drawn to the dynamics of the business world and natural competitiveness – a perfect fit for sales. In this industry it’s very important to have a ‘personal stamp’ — so I built my own, as I was determined not to blend in, since the industry is often overcrowded. Order, work, discipline, and zero tolerance for mediocrity are what got me where I am today. My career wasn’t handed to me, I used to outwork everyone in the room and refused to settle for anything average. I also don’t believe in luck — I believe in results, and I’ve earned every single one. It’s important to know your worth and move with intention but mindset and work ethic are key points.”

Current Offerings By Maria Lukic

We requested Maria Lukic to share more about her current role and the business she leads. We also asked, “What are the core services/products you provide?”

Maria Lukic mentioned, “I lead from the front — not from behind a desk. As a Sales Director, without a doubt, I would say the most challenging part is working with people from so many different backgrounds, nationalities, and mindsets, and in a diverse environment like ours, communication and understanding have to go far beyond language. The pressure of revenue and targets previously set is something with which every director is waking up and going to bed. My team follows my example as the formula is already there, and in a business where everything is competition this is a very valuable tool to have, and our numbers speak for themselves.

When you operate at our level (Developer), it’s simply not enough to only serve the market, we need to influence it. In our business, there’s only one rule – ‘location, location, location.’ However, with the market growing and changing so fast, there are many other factors which we need to attach to the golden rule.”

“I have an opinion that people today are buying from two perspectives – firstly, what they can, and secondly, what they like, and it is important to deliver a mix of both in terms of unique payment plans plus flexibility, followed with good quality, modern designs, finishings, and most importantly – a skilled and experienced sales force which can deliver the best possible results from that. We are known to always choose only premium locations and almost always all of them are waterfront.

Our new off-plan project is done in collaboration with one globally known car brand, so now we are delivering a luxury line of properties as well. I will use this opportunity to invite people from the industry, as well as those who are planning to invest to contact me, and I will be more than happy to give them a personal consultation on how and when to invest.” Maria added.

Adaptability Amidst Challenges

Interested to understand how Maria Lukic handles challenges as a business leader, we asked her to share the same.

Maria Lukic explained, “Leadership isn’t glamorous — it’s war. You’re constantly navigating egos, inefficiencies, and people who can’t keep up. I’ve faced resistance, doubt, and even sabotage, from people who felt threatened by my standards, as in every industry. I overcome challenges by remaining two steps ahead, staying unshakable, and trusting a process to overcome any challenge, which is just an opportunity with bad PR. Having a close circle of people you can trust to support you when needed is essential as at the end of the day everything is teamwork.”

Impact Of AI On Businesses

AI has been redefining businesses across industries. To learn Maria Lukic’s perspective on the topic, we asked, “How do you see technology, especially AI, impacting your industry? Are there any innovative practices you’re implementing?”

To be honest, I wouldn’t go too deep into the topic of AI, as I am not an expert in that field. While I do recognize its growing presence and potential to shape the future of many industries, including sales, I believe that human connection, emotional intelligence, and strong leadership will always remain irreplaceable,” Maria replied.

Envisioning The Future

We further asked, “What are your views on the future of the industry you’re associated with?”

Maria Lukic added, “It’s heading toward hyper-efficiency and ruthless innovation — which suits me just fine. The future belongs to those who are fast, knowledgeable, and success-oriented. This industry is being reshaped in real-time, and most people are still holding onto the models from the past. The winners will be those who move and adapt the flow, invest in themselves, and build teams that thrive on change. If you’re not prepared to lead in chaos, you’re not prepared to lead at all.”

Insights For Aspiring Beginners

Addressing the beginners of her field, we posed the question to Maria Lukic, “What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs or leaders looking to make an impact in your industry?”

Maria Lukic mentioned, “Outwork, outsmart, outperform, and then do it all again. My advice is to stop believing in ‘will do it tomorrow,’ as someone else is already doing it. This industry — like every other — rewards hard work, not comfort. Whoever wants to make an impact, must start demanding results, and build a thick skin. Success doesn’t come from the polite — it comes from the persistent.  Discipline and drive is what separates the average from the exceptional.”

Balancing vs. Prioritizing

We ended the session by asking, “How do you maintain a work-life balance while managing a business?”

Balance is a myth, a buzzword.  I don’t balance, I prioritize, and I run my schedule –  it doesn’t run me. When I am at work, I am all in, and when I switch off, I do it with intention. That’s the difference. I don’t believe in stretching myself thin trying to ‘have it all.’ I believe in being intentional, setting boundaries that protect my energy and personal time.” Maria concluded.
