Following India’s strikes on many locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, airlines have cancelled and redirected flights over South Asia. In response to the closure of all airspace, Gulf airlines Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar were among those that stopped flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha to airports in northern India and Pakistan.

According to Etihad, jets were diverted in midair. SpiceJet and IndiGo also issued cautions. SpiceJet declared early on Wednesday morning that “airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar, are closed until further notice.

Flights operated by Emirates between Dubai and Sialkot, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar have been cancelled.

“Passengers on cancelled flights should not go to the Pakistani airport.” According to a statement, flights to and from Karachi would continue to run on their regular timetable.

Etihad Airways planes EY284 (Abu Dhabi to Lahore), EY296 (Abu Dhabi to Karachi), and EY302 (Abu Dhabi to Islamabad) that were headed to Pakistan on May 6 have returned to Abu Dhabi due to the closure of Pakistani airspace, the airline stated. The airline suspended flights from Karachi to Abu Dhabi, Lahore to Abu Dhabi, and Islamabad to Abu Dhabi.
