Today, the United Arab Emirates’ national airline, Etihad Airways, welcomed the arrival of its first aircraft to Tashkent. This marked the formal start of the airline’s first route to Uzbekistan and established a new link between Abu Dhabi and one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets.
By linking Uzbekistan to the UAE, the surrounding area, and Etihad’s growing worldwide network, the new daily nonstop service strengthens Abu Dhabi’s standing as a premier gateway. Travelers from Uzbekistan may easily access major gateways in the GCC, Europe, the Levant, and North America thru Abu Dhabi, enhancing connection between Central Asia and international hubs of innovation, trade, and culture.
In addition to the launch, Etihad and Uzbekistan Airways recently announced a codeshare partnership that allows visitors to travel beyond Tashkent to eight locations in Uzbekistan, including Andijan, Bukhara, Fergana, Namangan, Nukus, Samarkand, Termez, and Urgench, as well as a few international locations on the Uzbekistan Airways network.
With direct connection to one of the top cultural, recreational, and commercial sites in the area, the new service brings Abu Dhabi closer to visitors in Uzbekistan. Abu Dhabi offers a unique combination of Emirati hospitality, world-class resorts, luxury experiences, and year-round attractions that continue to draw tourists from all over the world, from the architectural splendor of the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque to the cultural experiences of Saadiyat Island and the entertainment attractions of Yas Island.
