The Al Ain Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases Court ordered a corporation to pay a former employee Dhs185,000 after she filed a case for unpaid wages that had been pending for more than a month. The claimant alleged that she left her work because the corporation failed to pay her wage. She noted that the case was submitted to court after attempts to find an amicable settlement failed. Despite having signed an employment contract, her salaries were not paid. She stated that she had regularly contacted the corporation to request payment but received no answer.

The court determined that the employee worked under an employment contract with a monthly pay of Dhs75,000 and sought unpaid wages totaling Dhs185,000. The company’s counsel confirmed her employment and right to wages, but disputed her claim for one of the months covered by the complaint.

The court remarked that the company’s representative failed to offer evidence that the employee’s salary had been paid. It highlighted that employers bear the duty of paying salaries. The court also rejected the representative’s contention that he was not liable for contracts signed by his business partner, finding that no official documents had been provided to back up the allegation. As a result, the court determined that the argument had no legal substance.
