Oil prices reached their highest level in almost four years on Thursday after President Donald Trump stated that a US naval blockade against Iran would persist for months. According to two people with information who spoke to Axios, Admiral Brad Cooper, the director of US Central Command, is scheduled to tell Trump on Thursday about updated plans for possible military action in Iran. President Vladimir Putin of Russia cautioned Trump over the phone on Wednesday that there would be “damaging consequences” if the United States and Israel resumed their assault on Iran, as diplomatic relations between Iran and the United States are at a standstill due to false starts.

In a meeting with oil CEOs, Trump argued that bombing was less successful than the blockade of Iranian ports, which Tehran has said must cease before any deal.
A “significant milestone after successfully redirecting the 42nd commercial vessel attempting to violate the blockade” was achieved, according to a statement released by US Central Command (CENTCOM) on X on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, a Circle K gas station in Rosemead, California, USA, posted the price of petrol on a board. AFP
“41 tankers with 69 million barrels of oil that the Iranian regime can’t sell” were mentioned, with an estimated value of over $6 billion. Trump has been under tremendous political pressure to halt the war, which is unpopular even with a large portion of his supporters and has alarmed US allies and raised prices for American consumers. Regarding the military assault against Iran, Trump told Axios, “They are choking like a stuffed pig.” Additionally, it will be harsher for them.
