Participating in World Water Week 2026 in Stockholm, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) strengthened the emirate’s position as a reliable international partner and a pioneer in the advancement of integrated water and energy governance and water resilience. Senior UAE leaders in the energy sector were gathered in the delegation, which was led by Dr. Abdullah Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Department of Energy.
The group met with governments, regulators, international organizations, academic institutions, and business executives over the course of the week to discuss workable collaborations that promote sustainable economic growth and increase the resilience of water and energy systems.

Through its involvement, DoE demonstrated how Abu Dhabi’s integrated approach to long-term planning, governance, and regulation is enhancing water resilience, protecting vital services, and promoting sustainable growth.
Dr. Abdullah Humaid Al Jarwan discussed Abu Dhabi’s more than 50 years of expertise in creating a resilient water system based on source diversity, effective resource use, governance, and innovation during his participation in the high-level ministerial panel, Shaping the Future Through Water.
