Digital content producers and social media influencers will have a place at India’s inaugural World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai, which will support the country’s media and entertainment sector.
With more than 90 nations sending more than 10,000 attendees, 1,000 creators, 300+ corporations, and 350+ startups, WAVES 2025 is a four-day event that Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off today. A variety of industries, including broadcasting, infotainment, AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality), movies, and digital media, will be covered in the summit’s forty-two plenary sessions, thirty-nine breakout sessions, and thirty-two masterclasses.
PM Modi urged India’s young creators to propel the country’s “Orange Economy” ahead, recognising that their enthusiasm and diligence are forming a fresh wave of creativity. Whether they are filmmakers in Punjab, game designers in Bengaluru, musicians from Guwahati, or podcasters from Kochi, their contributions are sustaining India’s expanding creative industry.
The Centre launched a $1 billion fund last month to support India’s burgeoning creative economy ahead of the Summit. “A $1 billion fund will be established for the creator’s economy, primarily to ensure that all of our creatives who are employing today’s cutting-edge technology can access finance, improve their production levels, sharpen their abilities, and connect with the worldwide market.
