The Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the General Civil Aviation Authority, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, and other relevant entities, has announced that, starting on January 7, 2025, people will be permitted to fly drones under specific limitations in order to increase safety and community protection.

Information and requirements are available on the official website (https://drones.gov.ae) and the UAE Drones app. The Unified National Drone Platform facilitates registration and operations to enhance quality of life and achieve the “We the UAE 2031” objective.

In collaboration with strategic partners, the National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority has introduced the National Unified Drone Platform. This interactive platform seeks to establish the rules for drone use as well as to register and regulate operations.

The platform serves as a single hub, bringing together all pertinent parties in one physical or virtual location to streamline user processes. In line with the UAE Centennial 2071 and the vision of “We the UAE 2031,” it contributes to the achievement of national strategic goals by acting as a vital pillar of support for the continued growth and improvement of the drone industry.
