The global CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) division of Aster DM Healthcare, Aster Volunteers, opened two IoT-enhanced Mobile Medical Clinics with Tele-Medicine Services to offer free medical care to underprivileged communities in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, and Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. This brings the total number of Aster Volunteers’ mobile clinics to 50.
The Honorable Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, officially opened the units in front of TJ Wilson, Executive Director & Group Head-Corporate Governance, Aster DM Healthcare Ltd., Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, and Anoop Moopen, Director of Aster DM Healthcare Ltd. The Indian Lawn Tennis Association’s vice president and president of mixed martial arts in Delhi, Prabal Pratap Singh Tomar, has volunteered.
The launch is a significant milestone in an ongoing project by Aster Volunteers that aims to increase underserved populations’ access to healthcare in North India and beyond. With their IoT-integrated telemedicine services, a patient waiting area and registration desk, a vital data collection desk, a basic mini lab with refrigerated storage, a safe medication storage and dispensing facility, a consultation room for general practitioners, specialists, and super-specialists, a large TV for health education and awareness programs, and an expandable awning for outdoor shade, the new mobile units are custom-built on an Ashok Leyland Mitr chassis that is seven meters long.
