A unique business conversation with the United Arab Emirates is part of the schedule for the June 3–6, 2026, St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, the minister of economy for the United Arab Emirates, has confirmed his involvement. Russia and the UAE are currently having high-level talks, and business communication is getting more intense. Alexander Vedyakhin, Sberbank’s first deputy chairman of the board, talks about the implications for the technology track.
The UAE is a crucial Middle Eastern ally for us. It is a nation with a strong technology agenda, a high degree of digitalization, and a heavy emphasis on artificial intelligence.
These days, we mostly see the UAE as a venue for technology discussion and knowledge sharing. Our partners are interested in fields including cybersecurity, fintech, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and team building where our skills might be helpful.
At the same time, we take a very practical approach to these issues. Any collaboration must be technologically significant, adhere to legal standards, and clearly benefit both parties. We are prepared to expand our communication with UAE partners for this reason.
