Christian Stocker, the Federal Chancellor of Austria, met His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, while on a professional visit. Discussions and opinions on current global events, regional security, and methods to improve political, economic, humanitarian, and cultural cooperation between the two nations were held by both parties. Both presidents emphasized that there has been a notable improvement in UAE-Austrian relations in recent years. Mutual trust, respect, common interests, and a dedication to guaranteeing ongoing growth and prosperity for the citizens of both nations form the foundation of these relationships.
This shared goal is supported by the knowledge that both nations are dedicated to advancing security, stability, and prosperity in their respective areas as reliable and strong allies. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, which was signed in 2021, will be improved by both parties in order to incorporate new advancements and developing industries, such as artificial intelligence (AI).
Based on the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Artificial Intelligence signed in 2024, both nations reiterated their commitment to building a digital bridge, increasing exchanges in the field of AI and other crucial and emerging technologies, and developing pertinent industries in both nations on the basis of equality, reciprocity, and mutual benefit. Coordinating AI policies, identifying and promoting possible areas of cooperation, such as data center development and research partnerships, facilitating talent exchange and capacity building through education and training programs, and assisting private sector partnerships and investments in AI and other crucial and cutting-edge technologies are all examples of cooperation.
