There was a significant rush for last-minute admissions at many schools nationwide, particularly the more affordable ones. To meet the demand, some are starting more classes while others are working nonstop.
According to Sahar El Gayyar, director of admissions and community relations at Next Generation School Dubai, “last-minute admissions typically increase significantly as the academic year approaches.” To manage the influx, we are extending working hours, expediting the admissions process, and requesting additional support from our admin and support teams.
Sahar claims that this kind of last-minute admissions rush is fairly typical. According to her, “it is usually caused by people moving to the area or the country or by people making decisions at a later date.” We try our best to handle the substantial surge in application volume. Since most grade levels are already filled by this point, we are unable to place students every time. In order to meet the increased demand, particularly in the early years program, we occasionally do open additional classes.
Employees at the Hope English School in Sharjah have also been working nonstop to handle the surge of new enrolment. Admissions officer Alice stated, “We received the highest number of admission requests for lower grades out of the 295 new admissions we have.
