An administrative consulting firm filed a complaint in the Dubai Commercial Court, seeking that an institution and a company be compelled to pay 1.6 Saudi Riyals, or approximately Dhs1.58 million, for advisory services rendered, plus legal interest.
The case began in April 2023, when an administrative consulting firm signed a service agreement with an institution to provide consulting services to develop the holding company’s operational strategies for 3.4 million Saudi Riyals over a 12-month period, renewable.
The plaintiff firm stated that it fulfilled its obligations and delivered the final project files, but the institution did not pay the full amount, explaining that the total value of the work performed was 5.468 million Saudi Riyals, while the defendant party paid separate amounts, leaving a balance of 1.613 million Riyals.
After forming an accounting expert committee, the court affirmed that the report demonstrated the plaintiff’s compliance with its responsibilities, and that the remaining sum reflected the value of outstanding invoices for services rendered. The court also determined that the second defendant corporation was not a party to the service agreement, and the invoices and statement of account were issued in the name of the first institution.
