Following the success of Yango Technology’s pilot, a robot delivery system in Dubai will soon be spreading operations to other locations. Last month, the business launched its trial operation in Shobha Hartland, and the results have been positive. According to Nikita Gavrilov, regional head of Yango Tech Autonomy, Middle East, “when they saw that it was an option, over 40% of people who were ordering chose the robot for delivery.
In 20 minutes, they hope this cutting-edge, totally electric device will carry their groceries and meals to their building door. It’s really thrilling.
In order to transport orders within a 2-kilometre radius in less than 30 minutes, the firm started a test project in collaboration with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and food tech and retail startup Roots. Nikita claims that the robot has been really effective.
We’ve seen that our delivery schedules are currently excellent; from the time the purchase was placed until the client unpacks the package, it takes less than 20 minutes,” he stated. “The system is very stable because the robots are always on duty and fully charged.
According to him, the business has been training employees on how to communicate with robots. “Our partner Roots has not encountered any major challenges in the past month,” he stated. They have assured me that it is as simple as using any other platform. After placing an order, users click a button to open the lid, insert the order, and the robot leaves. Thus, it is simple to put into practice.
