The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohamed Bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, has confirmed that Arab women are vital collaborators in the advancement of Arab communities.
He acknowledged the many accomplishments of Arab women in all spheres of life, emphasising their ability to occupy prominent roles within the Arab world and beyond, representing Arab countries in important regional and international fora. Al Yamahi advocated for bolstering laws that help women, protecting their rights and achievements, and empowering them to play a crucial role in influencing future generations on the occasion of Arab Women’s Day, which is celebrated on February 1st of each year.
By highlighting its initiatives in this area, including the introduction of the Arab Document on Women’s Rights, he reaffirmed the Arab Parliament’s dedication to assisting Arab women. In honour of women’s contributions and social standing, this effort acts as a legislative framework and point of reference for Arab nations creating and revising legislation pertaining to women’s rights.
With a special tribute to Palestinian women, who he described as symbols of sacrifice and tenacity in the face of the genocide perpetrated by the occupation in Gaza for more than a year and three months, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament marked the occasion by expressing his respect and gratitude to Arab women worldwide.
