We recently had the opportunity to have an insightful conversation with Amani Albokhari, Director of Protocol & Strategic Presence at the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia. We started the interview by asking Amani Albokhari to share her professional journey and inspiration behind jumping into this industry.

Amani shared, “My professional journey has been shaped by a passion for people, communication, and creating impactful experiences. I built my career across protocol, international affairs, hospitality, events, and stakeholder engagement, working closely with high-level delegations, VIPs, and international partners. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to contribute to major initiatives and events in Saudi Arabia, where precision, cultural awareness, and strategic coordination are essential.

What inspired me most was the ability to connect people, ideas, and experiences in a meaningful way. I’ve always believed that strong communication and exceptional hospitality can leave a lasting impact and build bridges between cultures, businesses, and communities.”

Lessons that Shaped Amani Albokhari’s Journey

We then asked, “As an expert in this field, what are a few lessons that helped you in leading your work?”

She added, “One of the biggest lessons I learned is that leadership starts with trust and clear communication. Strong teams perform best when everyone understands the vision and feels valued within the process.

Another important lesson is adaptability. In fast-paced industries such as events, protocol, and international relations, challenges can arise unexpectedly, so staying calm and solution-oriented is critical.

I also believe attention to detail makes a significant difference. Small details often shape the overall experience and can elevate a project from good to exceptional.”

Challenging phases are a part of every profession. To learn more, we asked Amani Albokhari, “Would you like to share what you feel is a major challenge in starting a business or career? And how did you overcome it?”

“One major challenge in building a career is proving yourself in highly demanding and competitive environments. Early on, I learned that consistency, professionalism, and resilience are what truly create long-term credibility.

I overcame challenges by continuously investing in my education, expanding my network, and embracing every opportunity to learn. Rather than seeing pressure as an obstacle, I viewed it as a chance to grow and refine my abilities,” Amani reflected.

However, while AI is a powerful tool, I still believe human connection, emotional intelligence, creativity, and cultural understanding remain irreplaceable — especially in industries centered around people and experiences. The future belongs to businesses that know how to balance technology with authentic human interaction.”
