Following today’s observation of the Shawwal crescent, authorities have declared that the United Arab Emirates would celebrate Eid Al Fitr on Sunday, March 30. The holy month of Ramadan comes to a close when the Shawwal crescent is sighted, and Eid Al Fitr begins.
This implies that the first long weekend of 2025 will be a four-day holiday for UAE citizens to celebrate the Islamic holiday. The official holiday calendar for the United Arab Emirates stated that the Eid Al Fitr holiday would fall between Shawwal 1 and Shawwal 3. Sunday, March 30, which is Ramadan 30, will also be a paid holiday this year, according to an official notice.
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai confirmed in an official statement to Khaleej Times that Eid prayers will begin at 6.30am in all of the emirate’s mosques.
In more than 680 mosques and prayer locations throughout Dubai, the Eid Al Fitr prayer will start at 6.30am, according to a statement from IACAD. For the complete list of Eid Al Fitr prayer times as determined by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments and Zakat, go here.
