A lot of new engineering students from 13 universities in the UAE came to Dubai for the TechBots League SumoX 26 autonomous robotics challenge. Engineering students from Canadian University Dubai (CUD) made history by winning the Dubai TechBots League SumoX 26. They beat out 46 other teams to win.
Anthony Ibrahim, Maya Salahi Alasbahi, and Hadi Al Mubarak were on the winning CUD team. They beat 46 other teams and 131 students from colleges across the UAE to become the national champions and the only team to never lose.
With dedicated coaching and mentoring, the students delivered a strong performance from the first rounds to the final by combining technical precision with calm, strategic judgement, and strong teamwork.
Besomi Academy organised the competition, Dubai TechBots League SumoX 26, and Canadian University Dubai hosted it. Besomi Group, Arduino, and Qualcomm helped make it possible. It brought together young engineers from all over the UAE for an autonomous robotics challenge that required a lot more than just technical know-how. Teams had to design, build, and program robots that could act quickly and intelligently in a game setting.
