Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of Dubai’s Executive Council, announced SWS Board Technology as the winner of the Dubai-it Award in the Economy category.

The project was honoured for successfully establishing one of the world’s largest production facilities for snow and water sports boards, leveraging its composite materials knowledge to create an advanced industrial ecosystem in Dubai that serves worldwide markets.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan stated, “Who would have thought that one of the world’s largest snowboard manufacturing plants would arise from a once-deserted city? SWS Board Technology wins the Dubai-it Award for Projects in the Field of Economy.”

He stated, “Rainier Nouhra founded SWS in Dubai. Today, it manufactures half of the world’s kiteboards and wakeboards, as well as one-third of its snowboards, with an annual production capacity of over 450,000 boards. Its products have reached global markets, with over 6 million boards sold. It has gained the trust of top snow and water sports brands. Its Dubai-made boards have appeared in the world’s most prestigious contests, including the Winter Olympics.”

Sheikh Hamdan added, “This is Dubai-it: seeing opportunity where others don’t expect it and turning it into extraordinary achievement in record time.” Congratulations, SWS Board Technology team.
