Ameirah Al Hefeiti, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering support for and solidarity with the brotherly Sudanese people notwithstanding the harsh circumstances they face. At the same time, the UAE diplomat condemned the unfounded charges and the Sudanese Armed Forces’ methodical campaign.
In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al Hefeiti stated: “It appears that the Sudanese armed forces consistently resort to blaming others, believing that this tactic allows them to avoid responsibility for the atrocities they have committed against the Sudanese people-completely disregarding humanitarian considerations and disasters that have gone beyond all limits.
She added that the Sudanese armed forces are utilizing international venues to achieve very restricted goals, believing that this will give them legitimacy and divert attention away from the crimes and atrocities they are perpetrating in Sudan. She emphasized that the UAE remains committed to international law and demands on judicial accountability for the crimes perpetrated by all warring parties.
The ambassador stated that the Sudanese armed forces have a stark choice: Accept responsibility for the ongoing violence and its destruction, or commit to genuine discussions, supporting regional and international efforts to end this senseless war, and abandoning unproductive blame and victim narratives.
