Stars Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana claim that working on the genre-bending film “Emilia Perez” let them express their feelings and skills.
Under the direction of French filmmaker Jacques Audiard, “Emilia Perez” combines the genres of comedy, crime, and musicals to tell the tale of Karla Sofia Gascon, a Mexican cartel leader who transforms from male to female and establishes a nonprofit organisation devoted to recovering the bodies of missing individuals.
Gascon is a transgender actress who plays Emilia Perez’s male and female personas. Gomez is the mother of Perez’s children, and Saldana plays the lawyer helping Perez through her transition.
I ought to be content with my existence. I ought to be fervent. It’s okay for me to feel frustrated when it’s appropriate. At the film’s Friday London Film Festival premiere, she remarked, “It let me feel.”
“Emilia Perez” features the cast’s singing and dancing abilities and is presented in a catchy Spanish.
“It gave me an opportunity to reconnect with a part of me that I had so long ago said good-bye to,” Saldana said.
Though I was able to use the skills to improve my career in action genre-driven films, I kind of shed that dancing skin as I made my acting debut. However, I miss it. My heart will always remain a dancer, the” Avatar” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” star said.
