In a test of the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its regional allies, millions of voters will cast ballots in state elections on Wednesday in the mineral-rich eastern province of Jharkhand, India’s western industrial center, and politically vital Maharashtra.

According to a Matrize exit poll released on Wednesday, the ruling Mahayuti is predicted to win 150–170 seats out of 288 constituencies with a 48 percent vote share, regaining a definite majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

According to the Exit Poll results, which were made public after voting concluded on Wednesday, the Maha Vikas Aghadi would ultimately win 110–130 seats with a 42 percent vote share. The election results will be announced on November 23.

According to the exit poll, with 89-101 seats and a 26% vote share, the BJP might become the largest party in the House after the back-to-back victories of the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and NCP (Ajit Pawar).

According to Matrize polling agency’s Exit Poll forecasts, the Hemant Soren-led INDIA Bloc alliance is expected to suffer a defeat in Jharkhand. In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA is expected to secure a resounding majority.

According to the polling agency, the JMM-led alliance is predicted to perform poorly in the 81-member Assembly, where voting ended in two stages on November 13 for 43 seats and November 20 for 38 seats. Meanwhile, the BJP and its allies are seen crossing the magical mark on their own.
