In partnership with Dubai Holding Entertainment (DHE), Canadian University Dubai (CUD) erected an interactive artwork called “Shelter of Inclusivity” to honour the accessibility and distinctive contribution of the People of Determination (PoD) in every area of the community. Riverland Dubai will host the interactive artwork created by CUD’s School of Architecture and Interior Design, which was first displayed during Dubai Design Week last year, for February.

Supported by the social company ImInclusive, the installation commemorates the distinctive contribution of the People of Determination (PoD) group and promotes accessibility. The Shelter of Inclusivity, which emphasises accessibility, sustainability, and meaningful design, was created with the help of experts from CUD’s School of Architecture and Interior Design. In order to engage the PoD community, ImInclusive worked closely on the design, guaranteeing their participation from the beginning to the end.

A strong call to action is at the core of Shelter of Inclusivity, inviting visitors of all abilities to experience a setting purposefully designed to represent equality, acceptance, and protection for everyone. The installation was purposefully designed, constructed from sustainable materials, and features artwork and colours that reflect the resilience and energy of the PoD community. The installation’s curved walls conjure up images of protective arms, and the use of purple hues honours the PoD community.
