Contrary to prior assertions by other parties, news agency ANI reported on Tuesday that her death sentence has not been reversed, citing credible sources. Some individuals are spreading false information about the Nimisha Priya case,” the sources informed ANI.
In spite of recent rumors suggesting a possible breakthrough in the Nimisha Priya case, the victim’s family has openly rejected any pardon or accord. In a forceful Facebook reply, Abdul Fattah Mahdi, the brother of the assassinated Yemeni citizen Talal Mahdi, denied that he had forgiven Priya. Additionally, he expressed doubts about the legitimacy of the current case negotiations.
Mahdi said that mercy in murder cases is prohibited by Islamic law. Additionally, he attacked the mediators who mediated the discussions, claiming they neglected to speak with or work with Talal’s direct relatives.
In an earlier statement, the office of Indian Grand Mufti Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar said that the death sentence, which had been suspended, had been fully revoked following a high-level conference in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen. The Grand Mufti’s office has declared that Nimisha Priya’s death sentence, which had previously been suspended, has now been fully reversed.
