A truck driver who purposefully covered his truck’s number plate with mud in an effort to conceal its data and avoid traffic monitoring and control systems was caught by Sharjah Police. This occurred as part of Sharjah Police’s continuous efforts to curb actions and infractions that can jeopardize the safety and security of drivers. An innovative traffic surveillance system that used surveillance cameras, monitoring systems, and contemporary digital technology to cover the entirety of the Emirate of Sharjah was responsible for the truck driver’s capture.

In order for the specialized teams to start field search and follow-up processes, which resulted in the identification of the truck and the arrest of its driver, the technology helped monitor and track the truck. According to investigations, the driver clearly violated the relevant traffic laws by purposefully hiding the license plate in an effort to access several streets where trucks were not allowed. In compliance with the relevant legal procedures, the required steps were taken to capture the car and the driver and address the infractions.

In light of the sophisticated regulatory system, Sharjah Police confirmed that attempts to obfuscate license plates, conceal their data, or get around traffic control systems would not stop violators from being tracked down and apprehended. They emphasized that they would continue to monitor all of the emirate’s roads and take firm action against actions that endanger public safety. In order to lower infractions and accidents, improve traffic safety, and safeguard all users of the road, they urged drivers, particularly those operating heavy-duty vehicles, to follow the lanes, times, and routes assigned to them as well as traffic laws and regulations.
