As part of its refurbishment effort, Emirates has completed 100 aircraft, the most of any airline in the world. At the Emirates Engineering hangars in Dubai, 53 Boeing 777s and 47 Airbus A380s have undergone a complete nose-to-tail makeover since work started in November 2022. About 20 more planes will be upgraded by the end of December 2026, putting the airline well over halfway through its $5 billion investment aimed at providing customers with an ever-improving experience.

The Emirates Engineering team has deployed over 400 engineers and technicians over 44 months, investing a total of 4.4 million man-hours to convert 100 aircraft and provide comprehensive overhauls to every aircraft’s cabin interiors.

During the refurbishment, a new Premium Economy Cabin was added to each aircraft. As part of the program, more than 3,800 new Premium Economy seats have been added, accelerating the introduction of this highly sought-after product across more routes throughout Emirates’ network and giving customers more opportunities to enjoy the highly praised cabins.

Our commitment to deliver best-in-class products across every cabin is an ongoing endeavor, and completing full cabin retrofits for 100 wide-body aircraft in 44 months is a significant achievement,” stated Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline. Supported by a $5 billion investment, it guarantees that our passengers “fly better,” with each cabin featuring meticulous detail, improved luxury, and comfort.
