Starting on June 25, 2026, a limited number of Filipinos will be able to receive their short-term visa upon arrival in the United Arab Emirates. On Wednesday, the notification was shared on the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs’ Facebook page. According to the official DFA press release, which Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ferdinand Ver and the Philippine Consulate General-Dubai Cultural Section, shared mid-afternoon of Wednesday: “Filipino citizens travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) using their Philippine passports and possessing valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card issued by any of the following countries: United States of America, European Union member states, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Canada, and New Zealand, shall be eligible for the grant of a visa-on-arrival by the UAE.”
The interested party may spend at least 14 to 60 days in the United Arab Emirates. Those staying for 14 days must pay Dhs 100.00. An additional 14 days may be added to the visa “at a fee of Dhs250.00.” The 60-day option is “not extendable,” and interested parties must pay Dhs 250. The press statement stated that the new benefit given to holders of valid Philippine passports “was in view of the excellent bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE.”
“The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai welcome the UAE’s grant of the visa-upon-arrival facility for eligible Filipinos,” Ambassador Ver stated to Gulf Today. This encouraging development will increase travel, commerce, and interpersonal relationships between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates.
