According to Ministry of Interior statistics, light cars were the main cause of 3,834 traffic accidents overall last year. With 1,224 recorded accidents, motorcycles came in second. Bicycles came in fourth with 158 mishaps, and heavy freight vehicles arrived in third with 325 accidents. With 131 recorded incidents, heavy buses (those with 27 or more passengers) ranked fifth. Scooters, which were involved in 120 accidents, came in sixth. With 115 accidents, light buses (those with fewer than 27 passengers) ranked seventh. With 62 incidents, electric bicycles ranked eighth.
Unknown-type vehicles, linked to 31 incidents, ranked ninth. Light mechanical devices rated eleventh with just one reported mishap, while heavy mechanical devices came in tenth with thirteen incidents. According to the Ministry of Interior’s publicly available data, unexpected deviation was the leading cause of road accidents, accounting for 1,074 incidents. Different types of driving distraction followed, leading to 948 accidents. With 849 accidents, insufficient space between cars was the third most common cause.
Finally, 661 instances were reported due to carelessness and inattention.Statistics from last year on traffic accidents by type revealed that a total of 6,014 incidents occurred across the country. These were categorized as follows: 4,085 vehicle collisions, 1,102 pedestrian-related incidents, 800 crashes, and 27 other types of accidents.
