Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Habtoor, an Emirati poet, has died, leaving behind a legacy that skillfully combines significant literary accomplishments with a life of national duty. His continued influence on Emirati poetry and culture is evidence of his commitment and originality. Al Habtoor, who was born in Dubai in 1942, went on to get a Bachelor of Military Science from Cairo in 1967. He held important posts in the federal government during his career, such as Undersecretary positions at the Ministry of Labor from 1974 to 1976 and the Ministry of Public Works from 1972 to 1974. He moved into the business sector after these positions. He was also a prominent member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Federal National Council for four terms.

Al Habtoor had a lasting impression on the Emirati cultural landscape as a poet. Both classical and vernacular traditions are represented in his body of work, which includes well-known poetry collections like “The Inspiration of Flowers,” “Whispers of Wounds,” “Shadows of Candles,” “Particles of Longing,” “Damps of Hopes,” “Echo of the Desert,” “Song of Time,” “Nabatian Creations,” “Confessions of the Hidden,” “Overflow of Sorrows,” and “Here are Whispers.” His poetry reveal a strong bond between creative vision, national identity, and personal experience. Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Habtoor, who served his country with distinction and is regarded as a luminary who combined public duty with cultural enrichment, was instrumental in forming the literary environment. His contributions serve as a source of motivation for upcoming generations.
