Leading figures from the film and television industries gathered at BRIDGE Summit 2025 for a comprehensive discussion on how the global motion picture industry is evolving in funding, production, and distribution.

The “Opportunities and Challenges in the Global Picture Business” discussion, moderated by Patrick Caligiuri, Media Adviser at the National Media Office, began with a straightforward question: What factors will influence the production and consumption of movies and television shows over the next 10 years?

Cindy Cowan, the Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning producer of Cindy Cowan Entertainment, noted that tax incentives and the growing value of unique intellectual property are driving the rapid growth of independent production.

The CEO of All3Media, Jane Turton, broadened the discussion by describing how technology is changing every stage of the content pipeline, from commissions to production, especially data-driven decision-making and artificial intelligence.

If I were to describe the largest sort of bucket of changes around tech, I mean, there’s absolutely no doubt that the innovation and introduction of hardware and software has drastically altered the way that people consume, the way that people commission content, and the way that we produce content,” she stated. Thus, we produce over 4000 hours of shows and movies annually. And I would say that everything we make involves some technology.
