
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his partner Jodie Haydon visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Senior members of the Australian delegation, Ridwan Joudat, the Australian ambassador to the UAE, and Fahad Obaid Al Taffaq, the UAE ambassador to Australia, accompanied them.
Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, escorted the Australian Prime Minister and the group during the visit, showing them around the mosque’s vast halls and grounds.
He described the mosque’s founding history and its significance as a cultural icon that embodies the ideals of openness, tolerance, and coexistence values rooted in the late Founding Father Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision. He also emphasized the Center’s mission to promote international communication and to portray the essence of Islamic culture.
Rawda Al Marzouqi, a cultural tour specialist, gave a thorough rundown of the mosque’s artistic and architectural splendor, showing how Islamic civilizations over the ages influenced its layout. He clarified that the mosque reflects the peace and inventiveness of cross-cultural interaction by fusing several traditions into a single architectural statement.
