Arizona State University (ASU) in the United States and Khalifa University of Science and Technology jointly announced the opening of a dual Master of Science program. This is the first of its type in the United Arab Emirates, and its primary curriculum focuses on integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into higher education.

Students will receive a Master of Science degree in Engineering Systems and Management with a concentration in Technology Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship from Khalifa University and a Master of Science degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from ASU, which is taught by faculty from the W. P. Carey School of Business and Herberger Institute of Design and Arts, per the agreement that the two universities signed.

Khalifa University Enterprises Company (KUEC), the university’s business and investment arm, and the deep-tech incubator Khalifa Innovation Center (KIC) will support the Khalifa University-ASU relationship. After completing the dual degree program, these two organizations will assist students who want to create their own businesses, with an emphasis on the commercialization of scientific research.

Khalifa University Provost Dr. Bayan Sharif stated: “We are excited to work with Arizona State University on this special dual Master of Science program, which will give Khalifa University students a studio-based academic and immersive international experience that will end with a pitching competition to investors.
