UAE student Dalia Zidan, a high schooler at Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud in Dubai, has been named one of the top 10 finalists for the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2025, a $100,000 award that recognises exceptional students making a lasting impact on learning, their peers, and society. Chosen from nearly 11,000 applications across 148 countries, Dalia stood out for her innovation, leadership, and commitment to expanding opportunities in STEM.

A first-generation Palestinian student and aspiring electrical engineer, Dalia has already built an impressive track record. She developed an AI-powered web app to support the mental health of first-gen students, winning the Empower Hacks competition against more than 300 participants. She also serves as Executive Director of the International Youth Science Journal, which reaches over 72,000 readers worldwide, leading operations across 12+ countries.

At school, she founded AMTech, the first tech club, creating coding resources, AP/SAT guides, and platforms for underserved students. The club has won more than $9,000 in STEM competitions and partnered with the UAE government to host Dubai AI Week, engaging students and teachers in technology education.
