In anticipation of delivering its cargo by land to Afghanistan to serve the Afghan people in the wake of the recent earthquake, the UAE relief ship sailed to Gwadar Port in Pakistan. In accordance with orders from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ship transports 2,500 tons of food, shelter, and medical supplies. This is a component of the UAE’s humanitarian effort to help the friendly Afghans in the wake of the earthquake that rocked the country’s east.
The ship’s preparation, which reflected the spirit of national solidarity and the integration of efforts among various entities to provide urgent relief support to Afghanistan, was confirmed by the Joint Operations Command in collaboration with the UAE Aid Agency and with the participation of several charitable and humanitarian organizations and institutions in the United Arab Emirates.
To help the friendly Afghan people overcome the effects of these extraordinary conditions and strive to meet their fundamental needs, the UAE is eager to increase its immediate humanitarian response. This is reflected in the Emirati aid ship. The UAE’s lofty ideals of promoting regional peace and security, as well as assisting those affected by humanitarian crises, are reflected in its humanitarian support.
