The meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Sharjah Maritime Academy was presided over on Thursday at the Academy’s headquarters in Khorfakkan by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Sharjah.

Sheikh Sultan praised the Academy’s quick success and complimented the administration, led by Chancellor Dr. Hashim Bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, for spearheading a fundamental change at the academic and administrative levels. His Highness recalled the Academy’s founding and the difficulties it faced.

He confirmed that the Academy’s intentions are still being carried out, offering top-notch training programs and preparing students for professions in supply chain management, navigation, port administration, maritime transport, and related systems. He valued the partners’ assistance, which contributed to the Academy’s development and long-term viability.

Sheikh Sultan discussed a number of agenda issues with the Board at the meeting, such as developing curricula, increasing institutional alliances, and quarterly reports. The Board approved the 2026–2027 school year budget.

The Board examined Dr. Hashim Al Zaabi’s report, which contained a thorough presentation on the Academy’s performance throughout the previous time as well as the most notable administrative, academic, and research accomplishments from the previous academic year.
