Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and ruler of His Majesty Sheikh Sharjah, attended the 16th Sharjah Biennial winners’ ceremony in the city centre.
The Sharjah Businesswomen Council’s chair, Sheikha Hind Bint Majid Al Qasimi, the Sharjah Arts Foundation’s chair, Sheikha Hoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the Sharjah Arts Foundation’s director, Sheikha Nawar Bint Ahmed Al Qasimi, as well as several general directors, heads of government agencies, officials, and artists, welcomed Sheikh Dr. Sultan.
The significant turning points in the planning of this year’s biennial, the events and activities the biannual offers as an essential worldwide artistic event, and brief excerpts from previous editions were all included in the visual presentation.
Sheikha Hoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the chairperson of the Sharjah Arts Foundation, made a statement describing the main objective of the Sharjah Biennial, which is to become a distinguished international creative arts event. She emphasised its connection to Sharjah’s cultural effort, treated with the highest care and attention.
The 16th Sharjah Biennial has arrived in the city from which it originated, bearing its gifts in abundant baskets, blessed by the visions of its sponsor and founder,” she remarked. It delivers its offerings across the emirate, bolstered by the artistic genius of people from all over the world, after traversing different places and ages in search of the more excellent value of mankind wherever it may be found. The biennial’s curators search for genuineness and similarities in what seems distinct.
