To enhance the region’s water supply, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has successfully finished a significant project. A new pumping station, six pumps, a ground tank, and two overhead tanks were built in Wadi Al Helo as part of this project, which cost Dhs43.77 million and required extending a main water pipeline from Kalba to Wadi Al Helo.
As part of its continuous efforts to improve water infrastructure and guarantee that everyone in the emirate has access to clean drinking water, SEWA is working on this project. SEWA’s Kalba Department Director, Engineer Yousef Al Hammadi, emphasized the project’s significance for the neighborhood.
Creating a pumping station that can manage 700,000 gallons of water per day, constructing multiple pumps to guarantee constant water pressure, and connecting a larger pipeline to feed into a concrete water tank were the primary components of the project. Additionally, they installed fiber optic cables and almost 20 kilometers of steel pipes.
The project is now finished, Al Hammadi confirmed. The pumping station has undergone testing, and every tank and pipeline has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Working in mountainous areas, close to busy roads, and in inclement weather presented problems, but the work teams overcame them.
