The Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC) has opened applications for an exclusive opportunity targeting the UAE’s most innovative women-led startups. Selected founders will receive fully sponsored participation at Expand North Star 2025, taking place from 12–15 October at Dubai Harbour.
Under the initiative, eight female entrepreneurs will be chosen to showcase their ventures at the world’s largest startup and investor event, gaining direct exposure to global investors, venture capitalists, and industry leaders.
Each sponsored startup will also secure automatic entry into the Supernova Challenge, the event’s flagship pitch competition offering a prize pool of $214,000 in equity-free grants, including a $100,000 top award.
Maryam Bin Al Shaikh, Director of SBWC, said: SBWC’s mission is to ensure pioneering women shaping the UAE’s economy can compete globally. Expand North Star and the Supernova Challenge provide exactly that platform where bold ideas meet global opportunity.
Eligible applicants must be UAE-based women founders of licensed startups under five years old, and SBWC membership is required (applications can be made simultaneously). Ventures will be assessed on innovation, market opportunity, business model, traction, and team strength.
