Flydubai has said that it will begin dedicated freighter operations on October 1st, 2026, in support of its diversification strategy and Dubai’s standing as a major hub for international trade and logistics. Through a wet-lease arrangement with SolitAir, the airline will expand its fleet with three Boeing 737-800 freighters. Flydubai’s fleet of 98 Boeing 737 passenger planes will augment belly-hold operations with an additional 23,000 kg of cargo capacity every flight.
Flydubai intends to assess passenger-to-freighter conversions starting in 2029, and more capacity is anticipated after the airline receives 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Dubai has established itself as one of the world’s most connected hubs for e-commerce, trade, and logistics, and its ambitions under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 continue to create new opportunities for businesses to reach global markets,” stated Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai.
He continued, saying that the launch represents a significant milestone in flydubai’s growth, enhancing logistics and trade connectivity while opening new avenues for companies to transport goods and reach markets across the region and beyond.
