We started the session by asking, “What motivated you to take on your current role, and how has it shaped your career?”
Dhakshay shared, “From a young age, I was deeply driven by a passion for business and entrepreneurship. Armed with a strong professional foundation as a Chartered Management Accountant (UK), CMA (US), and Certified Fraud Examiner (US), I envisioned building something that would leave a lasting impact. Lessons From Career Risks
We requested Dhakshay B. Chandran to share a moment when he took a big risk in his career and what lessons he took from the experience.
“One pivotal risk was launching a proprietary POS system with a very lean team, during a time when the market wasn’t fully prepared to embrace it. While the product showed promise, the lack of product-market fit became evident. The biggest lesson I learned was that timing is everything. No matter how revolutionary your product may be, if the market isn’t ready or willing to pay for it, success remains out of reach. I also realized the importance of strategic capital raising—my reluctance to do so then was a costly mistake I’ll never repeat.” He explained.

We further asked, “What’s one major principle or value that guides your work every day?”
