The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has announced three shortlisted student-led projects for the inaugural “Global PR Challenge – Sharjah Edition,” launched as part of the pre-forum programme for the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF).
Organised in partnership with the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), Sharjah Brand, and the American University of Sharjah (AUS), the initiative provides a platform for students to create communication strategies that highlight Sharjah’s identity as a representative brand of the emirate while enhancing its local and regional presence.
The winning project will be revealed during the official ceremony of the 12th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA). By hosting this challenge, Sharjah reinforces its role as a global hub for innovative communication, promoting the Sharjah Brand as a unifying framework for the emirate’s message and values. It also empowers youth to transform creative ideas into practical campaigns that strengthen Sharjah’s reputation worldwide.
From among 30 students representing seven countries —Italy, Turkey, Hungary, Kazakhstan, India, Kenya, and the UAE —through AUS, ten teams competed with fresh communication concepts. The shortlisted campaigns are: “When in Sharjah, You are Home, Ships of Culture,” and “One City, Many Voices.” These projects were chosen for their creativity, impact, and ability to reflect Sharjah’s cultural and media influence on a global scale.
