Dubai is once again in the centre of international cybersecurity conversations after the first day of GISEC Global 2025. The three-day event, which is currently in its fourteenth edition and is held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, has grown to be a crucial forum for promoting cybersecurity innovation and discussion. In order to strengthen cyber defences across borders and industries, top global cybersecurity companies, government representatives, CISOS, and specialists from top corporations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia are showcasing state-of-the-art solutions, sharing firsthand knowledge, and forming strategic alliances.
UAE’s Strategic Cybersecurity Vision: Because of its progressive laws and domestic plans to fortify its digital infrastructure, it is seen as a world leader in cybersecurity. Initiatives like Cyber Sniper, which upskills local talent, and the cybersecurity index from the Dubai Electronic Security Centre, which ensures businesses follow stringent security requirements, serve as the foundation for this strategy.
Ned Baltagi, SANS Institute’s Managing Director for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, offered his opinions on the UAE’s proactive cybersecurity strategy. Baltagi stated: “The UAE is leading the world in cybersecurity thanks to its progressive national strategies and policies. The UAE is creating a sustainable cybersecurity ecosystem by supporting initiatives that nurture domestic talent and harmonising with frameworks like SCyWF. To close skills gaps and improve regional resilience, he also underlined the importance of the SANS Cyber Academies in nurturing local talent through industry-aligned training and certifications.
