Dubai opened 16 new mosques throughout the emirate in the first quarter of 2025 at a cost of Dh140 million. The new mosques can accommodate 15,000 worshippers. This is a component of the strategic plan of the Islamic Affairs and Charity Activities Department (IACAD), which aims to assist development and charity endeavors while offering a conducive environment for worshippers.

To keep up with urban growth and satisfy future demands for developing residential areas, 21 plots of land have been set aside to construct new mosques in 15 different regions of the emirate, including 11 mosques and 10 prayer-time mosques. This has been done in conjunction with the appropriate authorities.

Customer Service Director Mohammed Jassim Al Mansouri emphasized that these accomplishments are in line with the department’s goal to advance the religious work system and fortify its relationships with mosque sponsors and donors.

He noted that the department is working to streamline the administrative and technical processes associated with the construction of mosques to guarantee that projects are carried out under the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Al Mansouri commended the donors’ efforts and crucial role in bolstering these auspicious endeavors. He urged the community to continue supporting these initiatives, which embody the giving and solidarity fundamental to Emirati culture and assist in strengthening the network of mosques, which is a result of the emirate’s rapid development and progress.
