The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has announced a 21 per cent rise in the number of companies joining from Colombia since the start of the year.
The growth means DMCC is now home to 23 companies from Colombia, and over 150 companies from across South America.
Alongside the announcement, DMCC also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, marking a significant step in further deepening its economic ties with Colombia.
The new partnership aims to enhance the exchange of economic information and boost business growth through targeted support for enterprises and events promotion.
DMCC visited the capital city of Colombia, Bogota, as well as the neighbouring city, Medellin, emphasising opportunities for Colombian businesses to expand globally through Dubai, with a focus on coffee, precious stones, and technology.
Following the historic signing of the new Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the United Arab Emirates and Colombia, the DMCC’s visit is anticipated to more than double bilateral non-oil trade to $1 billion over the next five years.
