
On Monday, his Majesty At the Sweihan Training Center in Abu Dhabi, national service recruits were given Iftar by Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. Along with a number of high-ranking officers and officials, Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, attended the event.
Sheikh Hamdan’s visit to the training facility during Holy Month falls within the “Year of Community,” which aims to strengthen national cohesion and give the country’s youth a fresh sense of identity and accountability.
Sheikh Hamdan commended the recruits’ excellent discipline and dedication, emphasizing that national service is a vital component of a robust national defense system and that it instills in young people the qualities of sacrifice, loyalty, and belonging that the UAE Armed Forces exemplify. He also praised the young recruits’ dedication, tenacity, and fortitude in enlisting for national service, pointing out that they stand as the country’s powerful shield and future.
The recruits exemplify the spirit of selfless service to the nation, and the skills and experiences they acquire during their training prepare a generation capable of facing challenges confidently and actively contributing to the nation’s quest for ever greater progress and stability,” said His Highness.
